The Brief

Shakespeare in Love was a full theatrical production staged at the historic Lucas Theatre in Savannah, Georgia. Produced by SCAD Productions, the show ran for two performances and represented three months of intensive design and build work.

The Work

The production called for a world that balanced Elizabethan grandeur with the energy and spontaneity of the original story. My role as Art Director covered everything from the initial design concept through to prop construction, technical drawings, and the final dressed stage. Working within a theatre of the Lucas's scale and character added both a creative challenge and a unique sense of occasion to the entire production.
